This site is dedicated to the memory of Lois Phelps.

On the 14 October 2009 Lois came home from school feeling poorly, she had been suffering from flu the previous week and had not totally recovered, so she went to bed as soon as she got home. The only symptoms she had were headache, sore throat and feeling achy, exactly the same symptoms of flu. Lois was in bed and asleep early that night, I didnt think for one minute that she had anything other than flu. I went in to check how she was through the night and instantly knew how seriously ill she was. I called for an ambulance straight away, they stayed on the phone giving instruction on how to give CPR. It only took minutes for the paramedics to arrive and they started treating Lois instantly. The journey to the hospital seemed to take forever and when we got there Lois was taken straight to the emergency department. We were told that she had meningococcal disease and septicaemia which had caused cardiac arrest and shock. Lois died in the early hours of 15 October. There is such a huge gap in our family now, Lois was a fun loving person, you always knew when she was in because you would hear her laughter. I will never forget the way she would laugh until she cried. Lois was such a caring person, she always put others before herself, and at the end of her last school year she was voted the kindest person in her tutor group. This is the reason I have set up this Tribute Fund. If Lois was able to help others she would give her last penny, and by using her Tribute Fund to help people whose lives have been affected by meningitis is our way of keeping her memory alive. Lois was only with us for 13 years but she left behind so many people who loved her. Lois my darling I miss you every day and love you forever xxx
